ABOUT COACH MIKE
Early Soccer
Coach Mike Randolph is a longtime resident of Chino Hills, California. His passion for soccer began at the tender age of 6. Born naturally gifted in athletics, Coach Mike often played multiple sports concurrently during any given season. He credits his success in soccer from the great coaching and sportsmanship lessons learned from each sport on the field and court. His soccer career started with AYSO (American Youth Soccer Organization) where, after a couple of successful seasons, he quickly graduated from seasonal soccer to playing year around in club soccer. Club soccer is where he was able to harness his natural athleticism and passion. Training daily and competing with, and against, the best players in the league prepared him to escalate his soccer career by the time he began high school.
High School & College
As a freshman, Coach Mike was able to join the Men’s Varsity Soccer Team at Ruben S. Ayala High School in Chino Hills, California. After high school, Coach Mike decided to play soccer at Yavapai College, in Prescott, AZ, where he continued to excel his career to the next level. Throughout his college career, Coach Mike received several accolades for his performance on and off the field. During his freshman year, he was named the Region 1 Player of the Year as a defender.
Professional Soccer
In 2006, he started his professional career in Portland with the Portland Timbers, where he was awarded the runner up Rookie of the Year. At the end of that season in Portland, he signed with the LA Galaxy in 2006. While having a good stint with the LA Galaxy, Coach Mike was called up to the U-23 National Team (2007), which gave him the opportunity to play along side some of the best young talent the U.S. had to offer. After leaving the LA Galaxy, Mike decided to take his talents to South Beach and play for Miami FC in 2010, but only played one season before coming back home to play for the LA Blues in 2011. In 2012, Coach Mike was recruited to play for the amateur team Cal FC by the U.S. Soccer Legend Eric Wynalda. Cal FC went on to play in the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup (USOC), and make history by being the 2nd amateur team in USOC history to beat an MLS team (Portland Timbers). Cal FC’s run in the USOC lead to a 3 year stint in Atlanta, Georgia with the Atlanta Silverbacks (2012-2014). As Coach Mike's last season in Atlanta came to a close, he decided to play one last season with Ottawa Fury FC, where he would finish his career before coming back home to California.
